- 6 oz. butter or margarine
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 c. chopped citron
- 1/4 c. chopped figs
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 2/3 c. flour
- 1/3 c. raisins
- 1/4 c. grated orange rind (or pickled orange peel)
- 1/4 c. chopped almonds
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar well.

2Add eggs, one at a time and mix thoroughly.

3Gradually add flour, baking powder and then the fruit and orange rind.

4Nuts may be added to the mixture or sprinkled in bottom of pan before adding the batter.

5The cake is baked in a special grooved pan which is about 4 inches across and 11 inches long and resembles a tube which has been cut lengthwise.

6Grease and flour pan and add batter.

7Bake at 350° for 60 minutes.

8Cool a few minutes and then turn pan upside-down on a wire rack to cool completely.
