- fresh or canned fruit
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. flour
- 3 Tbsp. oleo or shortening
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 c. sugar
- 2/3 c. boiling water
Directions

1Place fruit in bottom of an 8 x 11-inch pan.

2(For example, use 3 cups apples or 1 (10 to 12-ounce) package frozen raspberries.)

3Mix 3/4 cup sugar, flour, oleo, salt, baking powder and milk; drop on fruit.

4Mix together the cornstarch and 1 cup sugar; sprinkle over batter.

5Pour boiling water over all.

6Bake at 375° for approximately 45 minutes.
