- 2 sticks Butter
- 1-1/2 cup Flour
- 3 cups Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder (heaping Teaspoons)
- 1-1/3 cup Milk
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- Ground Nutmeg (optional)
- 3 cups Fruit (Blackberries, Peaches, Apricots, Apples, Pears, Raspberries Or Blueberries) Fresh Or Frozen
Directions

1Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

2Melt butter in a 3-quart baking dish.

3Combine flour, 2 cups of sugar, salt and baking powder. Stir into the melted butter in the baking dish. Add milk and vanilla. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Stir again.

4Mix fruit and remaining 1 cup of sugar and bring to a boil. As soon as it boils, take off heat and pour over the batter. Don't stir.

5Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.

6Makes 6-8 servings.
