  • 3 c. peaches or other fruit
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

    Put fruit, 1 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon flour in pan; dot with butter.

    Take egg, sugar and shortening; mix.

    Add 1/2 cup milk, alternating with flour, baking powder and salt; blend well.

    Pour over fruit.

    Bake at 350° for 1/2 hour, or until done.
