  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. drained fruit cocktail
  • 1/2 c. juice from fruit cocktail
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

    Combine first 4 ingredients.

    Add egg, vanilla, fruit cocktail and syrup.

    Beat well.

    Put in greased 9 x 13-inch pan and spread brown sugar and nuts on top of batter.

    Bake 1 hour at 350°.
