Fruit Cocktail Cake

  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 can (2 c.) fruit cocktail (including juice)

Directions

    Sift dry ingredients together.

    Add egg, fruit cocktail and vanilla and mix well.

    Spread in a greased 9 x 12-inch pan. Sprinkle with 1 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup broken nut meats. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes at 325°.

    Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
