Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1-1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups fruit cocktail (drain and reserve syrup)
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 3/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup coconut

Directions

    Mix first five ingredients including syrup.

    Add fruit cocktail last.

    Place in 13x9-inch cake pan, spread evenly.

    Sprinkle over top, brown sugar and walnuts.

    Bake 350F for 45 minutes.

    While cake is cooling, combine last 5 ingredients in small saucepan and cook for 3 minutes over low heat.

    When cake is still warm, pick all over with toothpick, then drizzle topping over all.
