Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. cooked rice
  • 1/4 c. raisins
  • 1/4 c. chopped dates
  • 1/4 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Beat eggs lightly.

    Stir in milk and remaining ingredients. Pour into buttered cups or a 1 1/2-quart casserole.

    Set in a pan of hot water and bake at 350° for about 1 hour, or until a knife inserted into center of custard comes out clean.

    Serve hot with lemon sauce or very cold with hot butter sauce.
