Fruit Nut Bars

  • 1/2 box brown sugar
  • 1 stick margarine, melted
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 c. cake flour, sifted
  • 2 c. nuts, chopped
  • 1/2 lb. candied cherries, diced
  • 1/2 lb. candied pineapple, diced

Directions

    Melt butter.

    Add brown sugar and eggs.

    Beat until smooth. Add sifted flour and vanilla.

    Pour mixture over well lined pan of nuts.

    Place diced fruit on top.

    Pan should be approximately 9 x 11 1/2-inches.

    Bake at 300° for 40 minutes.

    These are a family favorite at Christmastime.
