- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- powdered sugar (for top)
- 2 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1 c. walnuts, chopped
- 1 can cherry or other fruit pie filling
- 1 tsp. baking powder
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar thoroughly.

2Add vanilla.

3Stir in eggs, one at a time.

4Stir in flour.

5Add nuts.

6Spread three-fourths of the batter 1/2-inch thick in an ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan.

7Cover with filling.

8Spoon remaining batter onto filling; spread over surface in patches.

9Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.

10Cool; cut in squares and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
