Fruited Pot Roast

  • 3 to 4 lb. sirloin tip roast
  • 1/4 c. Burgundy wine
  • 1/2 c. onion
  • 1/3 c. carrots
  • 1 garlic clove
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. dried mixed fruit
  • 1 1/2 c. hot water

Directions

    Brown roast in hot oil; add wine and vegetables.

    Season with salt and pepper.

    Cook 2 1/2 to 3 hours on low heat.

    Soak dried fruit in hot water for 1 hour.

    Add to roast last 45 minutes of cooking time.

    Remove meat and make gravy with 1/2 cup water and 3 tablespoons flour.
