Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 3/4 c. cocoa
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. butter flavored Crisco or oleo
  • 1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Grease and dust with flour a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan and set aside. Use a deep plastic bowl or mixing bowl and mix batter (sugar and cocoa) in bowl; mix well.

    Put oleo or Crisco on top of mix and microwave 1 to 2 minutes to melt oleo.

    Add cooking oil; add eggs, one at a time, and beat after each one.

    Add flour, a little at a time, and beat if batter gets too thick; microwave a little more. Add vanilla and chopped nuts, if wanted.

    Pour batter into greased pan and bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
