Fudge Cake

Directions

   In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

   Add water, shortening and vanilla.

   Beat with a mixer on low speed to medium speed until combined.

   Beat on high speed for 2 minutes.

   Add eggs and melted chocolate.

   Beat 2 more minutes.

   Pour batter into 2 greased and floured 8 x 1 1/2-inch or 9 x 1 1/2-inch round baking pans.

   Bake in a 350° oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

   Cool on wire racks for 10 minutes.

    Remove cake from pans.

    Cool thoroughly on wire racks.
