  • 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Start heating oven to 400°.

    Grease two 8 x 8 x 2-inch pans. In a double boiler, melt chocolate and shortening; remove from water.

    Add sugar, eggs, then flour, salt and vanilla.

    Stir well. Pour into pans.

    Sprinkle with nuts.

    Bake 12 minutes or until done.

    Cool in pan.

    Cut into 32 (2-inch) squares.
