- 1 deep dish pie crust shell
- 1/2 c. butter
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa
- 3/4 c. hot water
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 can (5 oz.) evaporated milk
- 1 c. pecan halves
- whipped topping
Directions

1Preheat oven and baking sheet to 350°.

2In a medium saucepan, melt butter; add cocoa and stir until dissolved.

3Add hot water and stir again.

4With wire whisk, blend in sugar, flour, salt, vanilla extract and evaporated milk.

5Stir until batter is smooth. Mix in pecans and pour into pie crust.

6Bake on preheated baking sheet for 50 minutes or until custard sets.

7Remove from oven and allow to cool for at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

8Garnish with whipped topping.
