Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. milk
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 baked pie shells

Directions

    Mix sugar, milk, cocoa and flour; cook until thick.

    Add half of hot mixture to beaten egg yolks and mix gradually into remaining mixture.

    Add margarine and vanilla; cook until very thick.

    Pour into shells.

    Beat egg whites until stiff; gradually add 2 tablespoons sugar and continue beating until very stiff. Spread over pie filling and bake at 350° until brown.

    Makes 2 pies.
