  • 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 box Betty Crocker SuperMoist devil's food cake mix

    Mix cake per directions on box.

    Set aside.

    Beat first 7 ingredients at high speed until smooth and creamy and set aside. Grease a tube pan.

    Pour half of cake batter into pan; pour cheese filling over cake batter and top with remaining cake batter.

    Bake at 350° for 50 to 55 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cake rises very high and then drops a bit.

    This may also be baked in a 9 x 13-inch pan for 50 to 55 minutes.

    When cool, spread with cream cheese frosting.
