- 2 1/2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, plus additional to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
Directions

1Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

2Cook the potatoes until tender, about 25 minutes.

4Combine the milk and garlic in a saucepan and simmer for 5 minutes.

5In a large bowl, mash the potatoes, milk mixture, butter, salt, and pepper to the desired consistency.
