  • 2 small onions, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 12 cup butter
  • 6 tablespoons flour
  • 6 cups chicken broth or 6 cups vegetable broth
  • 14-12 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions

    Saute onions and garlic in butter for about 3 minutes.

    Stir in flour until well blended.

    Gradually add broth and bring to a boil.

    Cook and stir about 2 minutes, until thickened.

    Reduce heat, simmer for 15 minutes.

    Add cayenne.

    You can also add cooked rice to this soup for a different version.
