German Cabbage Rolls

- 1 lb. hamburger meat
- 1/2 lb. mild sausage
- 1 c. white rice, cooked
- 1 onion, chopped
- salt and pepper
- 1 head cabbage
- 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 c. water
Directions

1Mix all ingredients except cabbage, tomato sauce and water together; make small balls.

2Separate cabbage leaves and place in boiling water to soften.

3Place one ball of meat in center of cabbage leaf; roll and secure with toothpick.

4Place in Dutch oven; add tomato sauce and water.

5Bring to boil and simmer about 1 1/2 hours.

6Skim off fat as it is cooking.
