  • 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
  • 3/4 c. melted margarine
  • 1/3 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
  • 40 to 50 caramels
  • 1/3 c. evaporated milk

Directions

    Heat oven to 350°.

    Combine cake mix, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and margarine.

    Mix well.

    Pat 2/3 of mixture into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Bake for 6 minutes.

    Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over warm bottom.

    Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk.

    Stir until blended.

    Pour caramel mixture over chips and nuts.

    Sprinkle with remaining 1/3 of cake mixture.
