- 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
- 3/4 c. melted margarine
- 1/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
- 40 to 50 caramels
- 1/3 c. evaporated milk
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Combine cake mix, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and margarine.

3Mix well.

4Pat 2/3 of mixture into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

5Bake for 6 minutes.

6Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over warm bottom.

7Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk.

8Stir until blended.

9Pour caramel mixture over chips and nuts.

10Sprinkle with remaining 1/3 of cake mixture.

11Bake 15 to 20 minutes.

12Cool; cut into bars.
