German Chocolate Cake

- 4 oz. Germans sweet chocolate
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. margarine
- 4 egg whites, beaten until stiff
- 1 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Heat chocolate and water until chocolate is completely melted.

2Mix margarine and sugar until fluffy; add egg yolks. Stir in chocolate and water mixture and flour and buttermilk; mix until smooth.

3Fold egg whites into batter.

4Pour into wax paper-lined 1-inch round pans.

5Bake in 350° oven for 30 minutes.
