  • 1 (4 oz.) Baker's sweet chocolate
  • 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Melt chocolate in hot water; cool.

    Mix dry ingredients together.

    Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

    Add egg yolks, one at a time.
