- 1 pkg. German sweet chocolate
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 4 eggs
- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Melt chocolate in boiling water; set aside.

3In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar.

4Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.

5Also, add melted chocolate and vanilla.

6Stir until smooth.

7In a small mixing bowl, sift together the flour, soda and salt; add dry ingredients to creamed mixture slowly.

8Lastly, add buttermilk and blend all very well.

9Pour into a greased and floured pan.

10Bake until done.
