- 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
- 3/4 c. butter or margarine (soft)
- 1 c. chopped nutmeats
- 2/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 (14 oz.) pkg. Kraft caramels
- 1 (16 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
Directions

1Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch pan.

2Combine cake mix, butter, nuts and 1/3 cup evaporated milk.

3Press 1/2 of cake mixture into pan; bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes.

4Melt caramels with remaining 1/3 cup milk; spread over cake mixture.

5Put chocolate chips on top of caramels, then the remaining cake mixture over the chocolate chips.

6Spread lightly.

7Bake for 20 minutes at 350°. Cut when cool.
