German Chocolate Pie

- 4 oz. pkg. German chocolate
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 unbaked deep dish pie shell
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- 1 1/2 c. flaked coconut
Directions

1In saucepan, melt chocolate and butter over low heat, stirring to mix.

2Remove from heat and gradually blend in milk and set aside.

3In bowl, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt.

4Stir in eggs and vanilla.

5Gradually stir in chocolate mixture.

6Pour into pie shell that has been coated with a small amount of sugar and flour.

7Combine pecans and coconut and sprinkle over filling. Bake at 375° for 45 to 50 minutes.

8Cool and chill.
