German Chocolate Pie

- 1 (4 oz.) pkg. sweet German chocolate
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 (13 oz.) can evaporated milk
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 unbaked 8-inch pie shells
- 1 1/3 c. flaked coconut
- 2/3 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Combine chocolate and butter in a saucepan; cook over low heat, stirring, until chocolate melts.

2Remove from heat. Gradually stir in milk; set aside.

3Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt in a bowl.

4Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.

5Gradually stir in chocolate mixture, using a wire whisk.

6Pour into pastry shells; sprinkle with coconut and pecans.

7Bake at 375° for 40 minutes.

8Pie may appear soft but will firm after cooling.

9Let cool for 4 hours.
