- 1 small head red cabbage, shredded in long shreds removing core
- 1 small chopped onion
- 2-3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tsp. salt
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 apple, peeled and chopped
- 4 slices bacon, fried and crumbled
Directions

1Place all ingredients except apple cider vinegar and bacon in large saucepan and simmer 15 minutes to tender.

2Add vinegar and apple.

3Cook another 5 minutes.

4Drain, remove bay leaf.

5Transfer to serving dish and add bacon crumbs.
