- 3 Granny Smith apples, thinly sliced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 small red cabbage, shredded (1-3/4 lb.)
- 1/3 c. white vinegar
- 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 tsp. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/3 c. dry red wine
Directions

1Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat; add apple and onion and saute for 5 minutes.

2Add cabbage and vinegar.

3Sir together sugar and next 3 ingredients; sprinkle over cabbage.

4Add wine; cover, reduce heat, and simmer, stirring often, 35 minutes. Yield:
