- 1 large can (52 oz. or 55 oz.) pork and beans
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 large tomato, seeds removed, chopped
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. Vernors ginger ale
Directions

1In large-holed colander, drain most of can liquid from pork and beans.

2Pour beans

3into baking dish and add onion, green pepper and tomato; mix gently.

4In small bowl, combine brown sugar and Vernors and stir until sugar is dissolved.

5Pour evenly over bean mixture and bake at 350° until bubbly.

6If flat open dish is used, bake

7about 35 minutes; if bean pot, uncovered, is used, bake about 2 1/2 hours.

8Makes 6 to 8 servings.
