- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. vinegar
Directions

1Bring shortening, sugar, molasses and vinegar to a boil. Cool; add egg.

2Mix dry ingredients; add to hot mixture, mixing well.

3Chill.

4On a lightly floured surface, roll thin cookies, 1/8-inch.

5Place on greased cookie sheet and bake 8 to 12 minutes at 375°.

6Cool 5 minutes.

7Frost and/or decorate.

8Place in plastic bags and tie with ribbon.

9Good to eat and/or to decorate Christmas tree.
