  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons ginger freshly grated
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

    Cream together butter, sugar, egg, molasses, and buttermilk.

    Sift together flour, ginger, soda and salt.

    Add to cream mixture and drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets.
