  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. shortening (1/2 butter and 1/2 Crisco or lard)
  • 1 c. molasses
  • 1 c. milk
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. soda (heaping)

Directions

    Cream first 4 ingredients.

    Add rest of the ingredients. Chill overnight.

    Roll out.

    Bake at 350° for 10 minutes.

    I like a soft cookie, so I roll them out 1/4-inch thick.
