- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
- 1 egg
- 2 c. sifted flour
Directions

1Cream together shortening and sugar.

2Add molasses and mix well.

3Sift together dry ingredients.

4Add egg and flour mixture to shortening mixture.

5Shape into balls and roll in sugar.

6Place on a greased baking sheet and bake at 350° for 12 minutes.

7Leave on a sheet a few minutes before removing.
