- 1/4 c. soft shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Mix shortening, sugar, egg, molasses and water together.

2Stir in all dry ingredients until well blended.

3Chill dough.

4Drop by teaspoonfuls, about 2-inches apart, on cookie sheet.

5Bake just until set, about 6 to 8 minutes in 400° oven.

6While still warm, frost with Coffee Cream Frosting.
