- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 stick butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. light Karo syrup
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 3 to 4 qt. popped popcorn (1/2 of a brown paper bag)
Directions

1Mix everything except popcorn and baking soda in a glass casserole dish; put in microwave on High.

2Bring to boil.

3Let boil 1 1/2 minutes.

4Remove from micro and add teaspoon of baking soda and stir with fork until frothy.

5Pour over popped popcorn which you placed in brown paper bag.

6Close tightly and shake. Place bag closed in microwave on High for 1 1/2 minutes.

7Remove and shake.

8Repeat this step for a total of 3 times, being sure to shake.

9Spread out onto wax paper to cool.

10Also may add peanuts to bag of popped popcorn if desired.
