- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, salt, cinnamon and cloves
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1/2 c. hot water
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and beat well.

2Sift dry ingredients.

3Add to creamed mixture.

4Dissolve soda in hot water. Stir in dry ingredients.

5Drop from teaspoon about 2 inches apart. Bake about 8 minutes.

6Frost with confectioners sugar icing.

7Spray cookie sheet with Pam before putting cookies on.
