  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 4 Tbsp. molasses
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 1/4 c. sifted flour

Directions

    Mix as for cookies. Roll into balls the size of walnuts.

    Roll top and sides in sugar.

    Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.

    (Will crack on top.)
