- 2 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. ginger
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 c. white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. molasses
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and molasses.

2Mix flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.

3Add to creamed mixture. Mix thoroughly.

4Form into small balls and roll in granulated sugar.

5Place on greased baking sheet about 2 inches apart.

6Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes.

7Remove to a rack to cool.

8Store in airtight container or freeze.

9Yields about 5 dozen cookies.
