  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. molasses syrup
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 c. cake flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in hot water
  • 1 tsp. ginger and cinnamon

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.

    Add eggs, one at a time. Sift flour, ginger, cinnamon and soda together.

    Add alternately with buttermilk.

    Bake in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan for 35 to 40 minutes at 350°.
