- 3 eggs
- 1 c. light molasses
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. salad oil
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ground cloves
- 2 tsp. ginger
Directions

1Mix eggs, molasses, sugar and oil.

2Dissolve 2 teaspoons soda in 2 teaspoons hot water.

3Add to egg mixture and mix well.

4Add spices.

5Add flour and beat well.

6Add boiling water a little at a time, beating lightly.

7Bake in ungreased 9 x 13-inch dish at 300° for 50 minutes or until done.

8Check with toothpick.

9Serve with whipped cream or lemon sauce.
