- 1 c. Wesson oil
- 1 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. unsulphured molasses
- 2 tsp. soda
- 2 tsp. hot water
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- pinch of salt
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 c. boiling water
Directions

1Cream Wesson oil and sugar; add eggs.

2Blend in molasses; add soda, dissolved in hot water.

3Sift together flour, salt and spices.

4Add to creamed mixture and stir well.

5Add boiling water. Turn into greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2 1/2-inch pan.

6Bake at 325° for 45 to 55 minutes.

7Cut in squares.

8Serve with whipped cream and cherry on top.
