- 1 egg
- 1 c. molasses
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. oil
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1/8 tsp. cloves
- 1 c. hot water
Directions

1Beat egg until fluffy, add molasses.

2Blend in flour 1 cup at a time.

3Add oil, then sugar, followed by spices and baking soda. Add 1 cup hot water last and mix well on low speed.

4Pour into 9 x 13 pan and bake 30-40 minutes.

5Cool slightly and serve lukewarm with whip cream or vanilla ice cream.
