- 2 1/3 c. whole wheat flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/2 c. unsulfured molasses
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. ground allspice
- 1/2 c. soft butter
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 c. hot water
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.

3Blend baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and butter.

4Stir in sugar; beat in eggs.

5Stir in molasses and add hot water.

6Alternate with flour mix.

7Pour in well-buttered 9 x 13-inch pan and bake for 45 minutes.
