Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. oil
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. molasses
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 3/4 Tbsp. ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • boiling water with 2 tsp. soda
  • 2 well beaten eggs

Directions

    Mix the first 3 ingredients all together. Sift together the salt, flour, ginger, cinnamon and cloves. Add to mixture with the water and soda mixture.

    Mix well.

    Last, add the eggs. Bake in a 9 x 13-inch greased pan at 325° for 30 minutes. Serve warm with applesauce or whipped cream.
