Ingredients

  • 350 grams plain flour
  • 2 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 100 grams butter
  • 175 grams soft light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tbsp golden syrup

Directions

    rub the flour, ginger, cinnamon and soda into the butter
  2. 2
    stir in the sugar, syrup and egg to make a firm dough

    either roll out and cut shapes, or place a spoonfuls into a greased cupcake tray
  4. 4
    bake at 190C for 10-15 mins
