- 1/2 c. Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 c. light Molasses
- 1-1/2 c. Flour
- 3/4 tsp. Salt
- 3/4 tsp. Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. Ground Ginger
- 1/2 c. Boiling Water
Directions

1Cream Shortening and Sugar until light.

2Add Egg and Molasses; beat thoroughly.

3Sift together dry ingredients.

4Add to creamed mixture alternately with Water; beating after each addition.

5Bake in greased and lightly floured 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan at 350 degrees for 35 - 40 minutes.

6Serve warm.
