- 2 c. Bisquick
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 3/4 c. hot water
- 2/3 c. dark molasses
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ginger
Directions

1Heat oven to 325°.

2Grease and flour squash 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Beat all ingredients in large mixer bowl on low speed, scraping bowl constantly for 30 seconds.

3Beat on medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally for 3 minutes.

4Pour into pan.

5Bake until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, about 50 minutes.

6Serve with whipped cream or applesauce, if desired.
