- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 stick margarine (4 oz.)
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 1 egg
Directions

1Mix dry ingredients.

2Blend in margarine, buttermilk, and molasses.

3Put in unbeaten eggs and mix.

4Beat by hand 20 strokes. Butter and flour a 9 x 9 x 5-inch glass pan, or 8 x 12-inch aluminum pan.

5Pour in mixture and bake at 340° to 350° heat for 45 minutes.

6The bigger the dish, the less heat.
