- 1/3 c. margarine
- 1/4 c. honey
- 1 egg
- 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 c. whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 c. boiling water
- Lemon Sauce as topping (optional)
Directions

1Cream molasses, margarine, honey and egg.

2Stir flours with baking powder, salt and spices.

3Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternately with boiling water.

4Beat well after each addition.

5Bake in an 8 x 8-inch square pan at 350° for 30 minutes.
